What is pastebin?
A pastebin, also known as a nopaste, is a web application which allows its users to upload snippets of text, usually samples of source code, for public viewing. It is very popular in IRC channels where pasting large amounts of text is considered bad etiquette. A vast number of pastebins exist on the Internet, suiting a number of different needs and provided features tailored towards the crowd they focus on most. (wikipedia.org)
Is there any connection between pastebin.cz and pastebin.com?
We share only the idea, implementation is my own and has nothing to do with the original.
What is OpenID?
OpenID is a shared identity service, which allows Internet users to log on to many different web sites using a single digital identity, eliminating the need for a different user name and password for each site. OpenID is a decentralized, free and open standard that lets users control the amount of personal information they provide.
Using OpenID-enabled sites, web users do not need to remember traditional items of identity such as username and password. Instead, they only need to be registered with any OpenID "identity provider" (IdP). Since OpenID is decentralized, any website can use OpenID as a way for users to sign in; OpenID does not require a centralized authority to confirm a user's digital identity. (wikipedia.org)
Where do I get an OpenID account?
There're many providers out there, for example claimID, myOpenID, VeriSign Identity, myVidoop, OpenID.cz. If you experience any troubles using OpenID, let me know (jiri.pospisil [AT] live [DOT] com) or use the report form.
What about my "old" pastebin account?
Since the system no longer supports this type of account, you must convert your posts into a new one in order to be able to manage them throught "My posts" section. To do so, log in using your OpenID account, then go to this page and fill up the form and click Convert. If credentials you provided are correct, your posts'll be converted. This operation can not be undone.
